Donington Park hosts Grand Finale & Night Time Attack
Our final event of the season takes place on Sunday 15th November at Donington Park. Initially planned for August, we are delighted that even following the unavoidable changes to the 2020 calendar, we are still able to visit this much-revered circuit this season.
Whilst the scorching hot weather we enjoyed for our visit in August 2019 is unlikely to be repeated this time around, the later date enables us to include the always-spectacular Night Time Attack. This exciting addition will follow the sixth and final round of this year’s revised event line-up and will comprise practice and competitive sessions in the dark for amalgamated Club and Pro classes.
Current Time Attack, Single Round Entry and Run What You Brung teams, together with non-championship competitors are invited to take part in the night event, which offers a two-driver option that further adds to the excitement and competitiveness of this unique motorsport activity.
The event will also host the end-of-season presentation of Time Attack awards, a round of the burgeoning Run What You Brung Series and another of our supporting shows: Tunerfest Midlands. Consequently, spectators will be admitted, albeit without access to the competitors’ pit and paddock areas.
As has been the case for our previous rounds this season due to the current national restrictions and guidelines, the event will look and feel a little different than before, with a series of safeguarding measures, practices and procedures implemented. We also realise there are potential travel issues for those travelling from ‘very high’ areas of contagion. Please download the guidlines and advice published by Motorsport UK below.
Once again, there will be no on-the-day scrutineering, signing-on or drivers’ briefing. This will be carried out remotely and require the filling in of a self-declaration form that will be forwarded to registered competitors in due course.
Further information about the control and mitigation of risk surrounding Covid-19 can be found in section 19 of the Event Supplementary Regulations, which can be downloaded below.
All competitors who are registered for the season, those have entered this meeting on a single-round basis or as a Run What You Brung competitor, will automatically receive Final Instructions, further details of the Covid-19 safeguarding guidelines and additional information relating to this event as we get closer to the day.
For those that haven’t entered and are intending to join us, we invite you to do so ASAP. Because of the restrictions in place and the new procedures that are having to be adopted, entries received after 11th November WILL NOT be accepted.
