We are currently in the midst of different times, with the ever-changing situation surrounding Coronavirus potentially affecting short-term plans for many of us. As you can imagine, we’ve had a number of enquiries as to how this may impact our championship.
This afternoon, an announcement was issued by Motorsport UK that provided an update on the situation regarding motorsport and the impact that the outbreak of Covid-19 will have on events:
“It is with regret that Motorsport UK is suspending all organising permits and Certificates of Exemption until at least 30th April 2020. This suspension follows the latest guidance issued by HM UK Government in response to the outbreak of COVID-19. This position will be constantly reviewed given prevailing information.”
The full bulletin can be found here: https://www.motorsportuk.org/motorsport-uk-covid-19-update/
This cessation of motorsport events until the end of April means that what was to be our opening round at Anglesey on 26th will now not take place and instead, Cadwell Park on 10th May will – as it has done in previous years – become our season-opener.
In the meantime, we will look to reschedule our Anglesey event. Consequently, we will keep you posted with developments and, as the situation appears to be changing on a daily basis, any further changes to our calendar.
Stay safe!
