Organisers of the UK Time Attack Championship are delighted to announce that eBay has become the latest sponsor to add its name to the line-up of supporting brands for the 2020 season.
The global e-commerce leader that connects millions of buyers and sellers around the world, has teamed-up with Time Attack to highlight its passion for the Performance Parts industry. eBay aims to support its buyers who are fans of the Time Attack Championship and deliver a message to manufacturers and distributors in the industry that eBay is the market leader for automotive parts in the UK, as Ian Faulkner, eBay Category Manager – car Tuning & Styling – explains:
“The eBay UK website sells a car part every second; we currently have over 60,000 buyers in our performance parts categories, purchasing everything from performance suspension to exhausts, body kits to custom indicators and air filters to braking components. Therefore, a partnership with Time Attack is a natural fit.“
“We are excited to have eBay on board as a major sponsor”, says Time Attack UK founder and owner Andy Barnes. “Because our championship is so unique, unlike almost all other motorsport disciplines, it appeals directly to a huge audience of car enthusiasts and owners. It therefore provides a perfect shop window for businesses that operate within the Performance Parts market.”
Time Attack organisers recently purchased a used Ford Fiesta ST from eBay – together with a series of performance parts from automotive sellers on its platform – and prepared the car for competition. The car made its track debut at Cadwell Park in August, where it won its category on both days in the hands of former Time Attack Champion and performance car specialist Rob Oldman.
The eBay Fiesta will appear in all three remaining championship rounds this season, with a different ‘guest’ driver behind the wheel on each occasion. It will also be used to showcase that it’s possible to buy a car and the parts required from eBay and then take part in a motorsport event just a few days later!

About eBay
eBay was the first online marketplace. Today, it’s a household name. A regular feature in lists of best loved brands, it connects millions of buyers and sellers, helping customers to find the item they’re looking for from its 1.2 billion listings. With 180 million buyers in 190 markets, trade is fast.
This incredible interest directly benefits the small businesses who trade on eBay, giving them access to an audience once unthinkable for a small shop on the high street. Throughout its 25 year history, eBay has helped many thousands of small businesses to succeed.
Small British firms regularly rank in the top five grossing sellers on eBay.co.uk’s biggest trading days like Black Friday, and over one thousand British sellers who started with a shop on eBay are now running million pound businesses, providing jobs to people in their communities. As a hub of retail in the UK, the marketplace also continues to welcome top brands to the site.
eBay also makes it easy for customers to give to charitable organisations. Using eBay for Charity, sellers can donate a portion of their sales and buyers can shop while supporting their favourite causes – adding to the funds that eBay.co.uk has raised for UK charities to date.
