Provisional 2021 Calendar Announced
Time Attack organisers are excited to announce the championship’s provisional 2021 calendar*. This first sight of next year’s dates and venues reveals a total of nine rounds at six different circuits, in a season that will incorporate two double-header weekends:
Rd. 1: Sunday 11 April – Anglesey
Rd. 2: Monday 3 May – Cadwell Park
Rds. 3&4: Saturday/Sunday 19/20 June – Brands Hatch
Rd. 5: Saturday 17 July – Oulton Park
Rd. 6: Monday 30 August – Donington Park
Rd. 7: Sunday 26 September – Brands Hatch
Rds. 8&9: Saturday/Sunday 23/24 October – Snetterton
Impressively, 2021 represents UK Time Attack’s 16th consecutive season. Once again, the championship will provide a competitive arena for a wide range of vehicles, with classes that cater for standard road-going models, through to cars at various levels of modification right up to full-on racing machines.
“Following a challenging season in 2020, we were extremely pleased to be able to hold five of the seven originally intended rounds”, explains Championship Coordinator Simon Slade. “We are therefore delighted to announce a calendar that comprises nine rounds and hope the additional events will provide the extra track time that was sorely missed this season. And whilst we all hope we don’t have to adjust our calendar in 2021, the extra rounds will provide us with more flexibility, should we need it.”
Because of the extra rounds, competitors will be able to drop scores from two rounds and therefore, the best seven results will count towards their final championship total. As in previous years, all but one of the meetings will be supported by a spectacular car show, a move that not only increases spectator numbers, but boosts public engagement and raises the profile of the events way beyond that of most other motorsport campaigns of a similar status.
Further increasing the popularity and excitement surrounding Time Attack 2021 will be a series of other on-track activities that will take place during the event weekends, details of which will be announced soon.
