We are delighted to announce that the revised 2020 Time Attack calendar is now in place. Following extensive consultation with venue operators, a programme of six rounds is planned, with a possible seventh if circumstances permit:
- Rd. 1 11th July – Oulton Park
- Rds2/3 15th/16th August – Cadwell Park
- Rd. 4 13th September – Brands Hatch
- Rd. 5 11th October – Snetterton
- Rd. 6 15th November – Donington ParkAdditional
- Rd. TBC – Anglesey
Three of the events; Oulton Park in July, Brands Hatch in September and Snetterton in October are retained from the original calendar, whilst a double-header at Cadwell Park replaces the previous Donington weekend in August. Consequently, the East Midlands round moves to November and sees the popular return of Night Time Attack – a non-point scoring event that provides competitors with an opportunity to end the season in spectacular style.
“Following the national measures put in place to minimise and control the spread of Covid-19 and the subsequent shutting down of motorsport events until 1st July, our first three championship rounds were unable to take place on their scheduled dates”, explains championship director Andy Barnes.
“We are therefore excited to announce our revised calendar with what we hope will be the same number of rounds and visiting the same circuits too. And whilst some of the dates have changed, we are confident we have a calendar that will provide competitors and commercial partners with a highly credible season that will be remembered for all the right reasons.”
Organisers have confirmed that all championship entries will be charged at the earlier pre-April rate and if six rather than seven rounds are held, anyone who has paid for a full season will be eligible for a refund. The phased payment option has also been revised to reflect the changes. Drivers will now count their best scores from five rounds.
Competitors who were waiting for confirmation of the revised calendar and who are yet to enter, are requested to do so ASAP by visiting the Time Attack website or contacting championship coordinator.
