Brands Hatch – SVA Imports Evo 6 destroysTA Lap Record

SVA Imports – The Kent based Car import firm has recorded a recorded breaking 46.869 second lap of the famous Brands Hatch Indy circuit. Noted as the most challenging and rewarding circuit in the UK where the time achieved here speaks volumes, the SVA car driven by Gareth Lloyd recorded the lap during the finals stages of Round 6 of the Championship.

Based on an Evo 6 but heavily modified using tuning parts and entered into the Pro class of Time Attack, the time was achieved despite the car spending a huge amount of time during the event up on airjacks with a broken gearbox. After spending the entire event fixing the issue, the team sent Gareth out with only minutes to spare on a fresh set of Avon slick tyres.

The car sped around the famous track, at one point recording an impressive 151mph trap speed, the fastest of any car on the day. With the Championship sealed by the NR Autosports driver Gavin Renshaw, the SVA team we focused on laying down a firm time to show their intentions for the future – the domination of Time Attack, featuring the teams own version of DRS.

In the closing stages the car crossed the line and set the bar the highest its ever been in Time Attack, hitting the 46’s with ease and with only a handful of laps on the day completed. It was a fitting tribute to the car which is set to be replaced for the 2014 season with a whole new Evo 6 build to pick up where this car left off and to no doubt chase down the times further.
